A school that has flourished alongside its growing community

Golden Grove High School opened its doors in 1989 with approximately 140 students across years 8 and 9. Over the years it has continued to grow and develop until 33 years later it is now a year 7 to 12 school with over 1650 students in its care.

The school is part of a larger education campus with two other private schools – Gleeson Catholic College and Pedare Christian College. Whilst each of the three schools have their own educational philosophies, we work together to offer our combined students a wide range of educational opportunities through access to senior school subjects in any of the three schools and a variety of vocational learning certificate courses. The three schools share a number of specialist facilities such as wood and metal workshops, clean technology workshops, specialist computing facilities, senior school science laboratories, home economics facilities, an industrial art room, music facilities, gymnasiums and the outdoor hockey field.

Additionally, GGHS partnered with Gleeson College to build the Dame Roma Mitchell Centre (DRMC), a two-story facility with high quality audio and visual capabilities and the capacity to seat up to 800 guests for events. The facility can also be separated into 5 separate teaching spaces – three for Dance and Drama on the ground floor and either one large or two smaller lectures theatres on the second floor.  The DRMC is also available out of hours for community events.

Students at Golden Grove High School enjoy access to high quality facilities and equipment. Classrooms are in double storey buildings according to either subject specialisation or middle school and located around a central quadrangle with easy access to the Wellbeing Hub, bookroom and canteen. There is a lift available for wheelchair access.

The Dame Roma Mitchell Centre incorporates a fully functional Performing Arts Theatre, Lecture Theatres and other activity areas and is shared between Golden Grove High School and Gleeson College. There is also an additional dance and drama performance space in our new Performing Arts building.

We are fortunate to have two oval spaces plus outdoor courts for the various sports with a wide range of recreational areas such as the covered amphitheatre to enjoy recess and lunch breaks. We are also partnered with The Golden Grove Arts and Recreation Centre and utilise their full gymnasium, courts, catering and theatre areas.

In addition students also have access to the shared facilities area of the Golden Grove Secondary Schools' Campus which encompasses the Trade Training Centre and

  • Large Design & Technology Suite – CAD rooms, wood, metal, and plastic teaching areas

Our purpose and passion is that all young people who join our community, leave us with a sense of pride and achievement, but also a lifelong connection to their school that will continue to benefit them into their futures. We strongly value keeping our connections with our alumni and invite them regularly to return to our school, support learning programs and attend school events.
