The New Zealand expedition has an Outdoor Pursuits and cultural focus. Students learn through challenging themselves in environments that range from alpine tundra, trekking around volcano landscapes, white-water rafting, minimal impact camping and mountain bike riding in redwood forests. Students are encouraged to be independent learners; being responsible for managing their cooking, cleaning and sleeping environments.
The expedition is very popular and is offered to students studying (or intending to study) Outdoor Education at Years 11 and 12. It aims to extend the students' skills and experiences in the outdoors in preparation for Year 12 studies.
